HAFOD HAIDD REVIEW QUOTES

"It's difficult to know how to judge an unkempt, dirty young woman who carries her baby around in a back-pack. But 'Megan Hafod Haidd' is one of the most endearing characters in the comedy that brings the sounds, magic, and aroma of the countryside to our screens..."

"Judging by the awful appearance of poor Megan, it's unlikely that viewers will associate her with Hannah's character, the preacher's daughter in 'Y Palmant Aur' (the Golden Pavement), but Gwenfair is responsible for both characters."

"Frankly, Gron, Evan and Megan's home is no bettet than a pigsty, all the sheep on the farm are black for the wrong reasons, and both father and son are more adept at milking a pint from an innocent fool down 'the local' than milking any cows on the farm...So sit back and enioy half an hour of fun, but be sute to put the muffles on any old folk's ears!

TALIESYN REVIEWS & QUOTES

"...an absoloutely breathtaking experience for anyone of any age." - The Guardian"

...it's a rattling good yarn told with wit and verve...where it goes from there could fill this page though it's packed pacily into a hour of humour, music, inventive direction and even an itty-bitty-witty touch of eroticism"  - Harry Brown, The Irish Times

"The five actors, who are also musicians and dancers, provide bright comic performances..."
- Calgary Herald

"It's to 'Dai' for!...The five-strong cast are talented singers  and dancers, while the comedy is physical without ever veering into slapstick..." - Dublin Evening Herald

"Taliesin... pushed at the limits of what theatre could accommodate as a pure imaginative  structure, with occasional moments of  intense ugliness and horror - emphasizing the fragility of the imagination's constructs, as well as much comic relief" - The Theater Internationalist
INTO THE EAST THEATER SHOW/UK REGIONAL TOUR - GWENFAIR AS FEMALE LEAD

Review & Review Quote

"Gwenfair Vaughan played Rebecca. As she chewed on the tounge of her shoe to ease the pangs of hunger, you felt that hunger. It was a moving and dramatic performance in which she made you feel guilty for the atrocities that were portrayed. An outstanding performance"

Review & Review Quote

"An hour of crystal clear brilliance...Mandy and Greg are two tenish year old children both played with bright and convincing relish  by Gwenfair Vaughan and Emyr John. Their success in making us believe that they are young chidren is remarkable!...A quality achievement by all concerned" - Welsh Theater Review
RAW WOMEN & COOKED MEN  - GWENFAIR AS ENSEMBLE MEMBER

Review & Review Quote

"It's certainly powerful stuff and thought-provoking as it highlights the absurdities of contemporary erotic behaviour. The performers give their all, but how else could they act considering the subject matter? That makes the play. The make-up and stage design are striking and delightfully complement the profound movements  of the cast"
